March is Poison Prevention Month at Mount Carmel Animal Hospital
Pets are naturally curious and can be at risk for accidentally ingesting toxin food, plants, and other items in the home. The number one pet toxin in Maryland is chocolate. It is grapes in Delaware, sugar-free gum in Idaho, acetaminophin in Alaska, and ibuprofen in Ohio, Arizona, West Virginia and North Carolina. These are all very common items that many of us probably have in our homes.
