Welcome to our Hospital
Mount Carmel Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Stan
Cohen in 1984. The original site of the hospital was
in an historic, old home less than a mile north of our
current location. Dr. Steele and Dr. Fox bought the practice
in 1994 and we moved into our new, state of the art facility
in April, 2005.
Reception
Upon arriving at our front desk reception area you will
be greeted by our knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our
receptionists will help you with everything from checking
your pet in for an appointment to product sales and prescription
refills.
Waiting
Room
Our waiting room was designed with you and your pets
in mind. With the fireplace and comfortable leather furniture,
it's a cozy room where you can relax with a cup of coffee
or espresso before your appointment.
Examination
Rooms
Your veterinary technician will greet you for your pet's
appointment and collect their medical history. Our technicians
possess a wealth of information. They can help you with
behavioral issues such as puppy or kittens issues, housebreaking
and training.
Treatment
Room
When your pet is admitted to the hospital, they stay
in our treatment area where our doctors and technicians
are close at hand for procedures and monitoring. We designed
our treatment area to be as open and spacious as possible.
With twenty foot ceilings, natural light just floods
right in. Additional lighting fixtures are mounted on
a suspended fir beam that travels across the work area.
There are six separate exam tables and cages are located
throughout the room.
Dental
A good dental program is an essential aspect of your
pet's overall health. With two complete dentistry suites
complete with dental radiography, we are equipped to
provide routine scaling and polishing, basic periodontal
care and extractions or oral surgery.
Laboratory
Mount Carmel Hospital has an in house laboratory that
can perform most routine tests. Tests that are run in
our lab enable us to diagnose your pet and begin treatment
immediately. We also use outside reference labs for more
specialized testing.
Radiology
X-rays and ultrasound testing is done on site at MCAH.
Digital imaging is the latest in x-ray technology and
allows us to view the images within seconds.
Surgery
MCAH has two surgical suites that are equipped with
the most technically advanced equipment available in
veterinary medicine. We have been using a laser in our
surgical cases for years and have just upgraded our equipment
again. Both surgery rooms are on a separate ventilation
system to ensure a clean, dust-free working area.
Kennel
MCAH provides boarding for our clients who have pets
with conditions which require medical attention like
diabetes, intravenous therapy, seizures, etc. Our air
conditioned and heated accommodations are usually booked
early around holidays so make your plans well ahead of
time.
